Main Purpose & Function
The Executive Assistant to the City Solicitor/Director of Legal Services is primarily responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Directors office, and for providing confidential senior administrative services to the Director.

Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships
This position reports directly to the City of Vancouvers City Solicitor/Director of Legal Services (Director). Ongoing contact will occur with other senior staff in the City and their administrative assistants, government partners and other external agencies. Within the department, the role will have an indirect reporting relationship with the Administrative Manager for certain work items.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
A degree or diploma in Business Administration, or a related field supplemented by five to seven years experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. A minimum of three years experience in a private law firm or government legal environment is required, as is recent experience working with legal systems and software. Experience working in a municipal government and familiarity with the workings of City Council and its Standing Committees is an asset.
