Supervisor - Financial Reporting and Compliance


The Vancouver School District is an exciting, progressive and dynamic school district. In this position, you will apply your accounting expertise to oversee a team of accounting staff in the finance department, develop and implement policies and procedures related to internal controls and oversee and support financial reporting and audit. Managing a team of six accounting positions, you will be responsible for assigning work, mentoring, hiring and training both unionized and exempt staff. Implementation and monitoring of financial systems are a key component to this position. Liaising with District Staff, government and outside agencies as well as conducting training workshops for Administrators and school-based staff is also a key responsibility for this position.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
CPA, CGA/CMA/CA plus a minimum of five (5) years senior level accounting experience. Experience in the public sector and knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards is considered an asset.

This is a permanent position, which is exempt from union jurisdiction.
