The City of Burnaby is actively recruiting for an Assistant Manager - Inventory and Warehouse Operations to join the team. This is a complex management position with supervisory responsibilities for the Citys stores facilities. This position is responsible for management of the inventory investment for multiple locations; managing the availability and timely delivery of inventory and project materials; disposal of surplus and obsolete items; ongoing review and commitment to continuous process improvement; monitoring customer service levels for inventory delivery and services; and leadership and supervision of the Inventory and Warehouse Operations work group, including performance management, training and development.

The successful applicant will have strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask; liaise with staff in other operations departments to assist with logistical planning for projects and to make recommendations for service improvement; knowledge of leading practices in inventory and warehouse operations; the ability to meet and exceed internal customer service requirements; exercise tact and diplomacy; awareness and confidentiality of sensitive information; and strong analytical and computer skills, particularly in MS Office Applications and SAP.

Qualifications include the completion of APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) courses, supplemented with the BCIT Operations Management Diploma or Canadian Association of Logistics Management Diploma (P.log) or Certified Production and Inventory Management Diploma CPIM designation or supply chain management courses, combined with not less than 5 years of inventory and warehousing experience at the supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. A valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers License is also required.

Duration: Temporary Full-time from September 01, 2017 to December 31, 2018.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday 07:00-15:30
