Main Purpose and Function
The PCI Office is responsible for providing risk mitigation strategies to ensure ongoing compliance with Payment Card Industry ("PCI") security standards. The PCI Office ensures that the City is compliant with PCI security standards by staying abreast of industry best practices, by promoting risk awareness among business units, and by ensuring that proper documentation and audit evidence is available to support ongoing compliance and re-certification requriements. The PCI Office plays a key role in mitigating the serious financial, reputational, and operational risks due to non-compliance.

The PCI Compliance and Engagement Lead leverages project management expertise to provide advisory services and to ensure that the City remains in compliance with the PCI security standards even as payment technologies in different business units change. This position ensures continuous dialogue, provides guidance, and manages relationships between the PCI office and the business units that process credit card payments across the City. In addition, the PCI Compliance and Engagement Lead provides advice and decision-making support to the PCI Steering Committee and to senior executives in order to facilitate the strategic design and implementation of payment channels, and to ensure ongoing compliance within the Citys environment.
