Main Purpose and Function
The Project Lead, Organizational Health & Safety, will be responsible for overseeing the refresh of the Citys Safety Management System implementation and related policies and procedures and other safety projects and initiatives to ensure a safety-based culture within assigned areas. The incumbent will work with internal stakeholders to facilitate reviews and ensure the adoption and site ownership of the Citys Safety Management System.The position will contribute to the adoption and integration of the Citys Safety Management System and related policies and procedures in to how work is performed in assigned project areas.

Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Manager, Organizational Safety. The position is cross-functional and cross-disciplinary, and may work closely with Directors, Assistant Directors, Managers and Supervisors along with other stakeholders such as unions, joint safety committees and other employee and/or management groups. The ability to establish and maintain these relationships is key.

The incumbent may work with the management team and co-chair safety committee meetings and/or lead initiatives to proactively identify, assess and address OH&S issues in assigned areas.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities
The Project Lead, Organizational Health & Safety, will provide direction, define project scope, departmental objectives and deliverables to meet the business needs while aligning with the Citys Safety Management System.

The position may be assigned to one or more in-scope initiatives.

In addition to functioning as a project lead, the incumbent may be required to act as a lead on Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) issues. In this capacity, he or she is responsible for facilitating compliance with OH&S Regulations and Standards, City Policies and Programs and department procedures relating to OH&S. The incumbent will lead assigned areas in implementation, coordination, and review promoting continuous improvement in these areas.
