House Moving and Salvaging Program Coordinator

The City of Richmond is currently looking to hire a Temporary Full-Time Program Coordinator to coordinate the implementation of the Citys House Moving and Salvaging program, which will involve relocating existing houses and salvaging building materials from demolition sites, and provide an opportunity to maximize the amount of materials that can be recycled.

The successful incumbent will be required to perform independent research, provide advice and recommendations on program development, fine tune processes, provide direction to inspections and plans processing staff in relation to program objectives, and prepare reports and conduct presentations as needed.

Examples of other key work activities include, but are not limited to:Position Requirements:
Completion of a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Architecture, or another job related field; supplemented by a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of job-related work experience, inclusive of experience with the Building Code and proficiency in reading construction drawings. Previous work experience in a Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering setting is preferred. Experience working in a municipal setting is considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
