Project Engineer, Hydrogen Injection Study
Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC)

(Temporary Full-time1 Year)

Located at the urban core of the beautiful North Shore with convenient access to major regional and global centres, Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC) continues to expand and develop a District Energy system that currently services 70 buildings. Through the City of North Vancouver, the LEC has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Project Engineer for approximately one year.

LEC has identified a potential source of hydrogen in the North Shore and in collaboration with FortisBC, LEC would like to investigate the feasibility of injecting waste hydrogen in the FortisBC network for the purpose of reducing LECs greenhouse gas emissions. Under the general direction of the Director of LEC and working in close relationship with LECs Project Engineers, you will be responsible for the completion of a study that, among other things, will identify hydrogen injection technical requirements and limitations; hydrogen accessibility; contractual and financing requirements; and external funding opportunities. As this position is partly funded by FortisBC, you will report on your progress on a quarterly basis to both FortisBC and LEC.

You possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field and are registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or are eligible for registration as a P. Eng., with APEGBC. You will also have considerable related experience which includes a thorough knowledge of the design and maintenance principles and specifications of natural gas transmission infrastructures and alternative combustible material injection. A certificate in project management will help you in delivering superior project results. Your hands-on, entrepreneurial attitude allows you to think creatively and to innovate, while your attention to details and persistence at resolving technical issues ensures that infrastructure projects are implemented in a reliable and optimal manner.

Demonstrated success in leadership positions while working in a team environment is essential, as are outstanding organizational, planning, budgeting and strategic analysis skills. Superior communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a demonstrated ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders will ensure your success in this position. Good working knowledge of MS Office is required.

During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police Information Check (PIC).

Through the City of North Vancouver, LEC offers an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule.

If this looks like the opportunity you have been seeking, particularly if you are passionate about alternate energy sources, apply on-line through the Career Portal at prior to 5:00p.m., Thursday November 9, 2017.

Thank you for your interest in the Lonsdale Energy Corporation.
