The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator with solid skills in delivering municipal recreation programs. This position will oversee the growth and development of recreational programming for a variety of ages, with a focus on adults, along with drop-ins, events and special events. In addition, the work involves training and evaluating staff, evaluating programs and ensuring a high level of customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community recreation programming with a particular focus on adult and older adult populations, including physical activity programs. The incumbent will have a strong working knowledge of recreation industry trends and the ability to incorporate findings from an overarching seniors strategy.

The successful candidate will have completed a University or community college program with a degree or diploma in community recreation or related discipline plus sound related supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required. Education or training such in an area such as Gerontology or other training in working with the senior population is considered an asset.

The CUPE hourly rate of pay is $29.77 - $35.04, plus we offer an excellent benefits package. This schedule for this position is flexible and will involve evening and weekend work.
