Are you a creative problem solver with an ability to build and enhance strategic partnerships with the Union and other business stakeholders? Can you use your in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of employee and labour relations to guide and influence business decisions and problems in a creative and constructive way?

I am looking for someone who is able to understand the whole context of an issue and identify the linkages between the collective agreement, HR policies, employment legislation and labour relations case law. I also need someone who can bring strong written and verbal communication to the team. You will be preparing materials for investigations, grievance meetings, arbitrations and mediations, so you need to be adept at facilitation and negotiation techniques.

The day-to day work will consist of managing and responding to grievances along with supporting managers/supervisors with the application and interpretation of the collective agreement and people policies. One of the main projects you can look forward to playing an integral role in is supporting the collective bargaining process and participating in contract negotiations in 2018 and 2019. It would be ideal if you had prior experience in this area.

As this role is part of the broader People Services Team, you can look forward to being included in a high performing and efficient team that produces a large volume of work. We are involved in many aspects of the business, including (but not limited to!) labour and employee relations, total compensation management, disability case management, occupational health and safety, technology programs and platforms, metrics and day to day HRIS processing.
