Reporting to the ManagerMarketing, this is specialized communications work in developing digital, and social media strategies and messages. An incumbent provides guidance to staff engaged in digital marketing and communications; creates and maintains online advertising campaigns; analyses the effectiveness of various marketing and communications campaigns; plans and coordinates digital marketing and communications campaigns and messages and develops the City'sonline presence; recommends related courses of action on digital marketing and communications matters; monitors customer review sites and social media conversations;provides guidance and advice to others on responses;writes andedits e-newsletters, maintains e-newsletter database, and provides related advice to divisional staff. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline, plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the marketing and communications principles, practices, methods and techniques; of digital, online and social media practices and related available technology. Ability to write and edit a variety of materials and to research, collect, and compile information on a variety of subjects; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.Ability to use equipment and software used in the work (i.e. MS Office, Adobe Photoshopor other image editing software, Content Management Systems, Mailchimp or other email marketing services, online analytics programs, and online advertising platforms). Drivers Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.

Status: Temporary Full Time to December 31, 2018.
