The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) is the regional government serving the approximate 30,000 residents of the Sunshine Coast. Bordered by rugged mountains on one side and the Georgia Strait on the other, the Sunshine Coast is situated on a peninsula between Howe Sound and Jervis Inlet in the traditional territory of the Sechelt and Squamish First Nations. The Sunshine Coast Regional District is currently inviting applications for the position of Bylaw Enforcement Officer/Dog Control Officer (Casual). This is a dual role working both in Bylaw Enforcement and Dog Control; the rate of pay is as follows:

For hours worked as Bylaw Enforcement Officer $31.60
For hours worked as Dog Control Officer $32.87

In the role of Bylaw Enforcement Officer, this position is responsible to investigate complaints arising from Sunshine Coast Regional District bylaws and regulations, facilitate resolution to obtain compliance; and is required to prepare accurate reports and confidential records. In the role of Dog Control Officer, this position enforces the current Dog Control Bylaw within the boundaries established by Regional District Bylaws and represents the Regional District in all legal proceedings pertaining to dog control.

Note: Casuals relieve employees who are on sick leave, leave of absence, vacation, or peak work periods for overload situations; there are no regularly scheduled hours nor any guarantee of hours.
