The City of Burnaby is actively seeking a Team LeadInformation Technology (Project Manager) in the Information Technology Department. This is analytical and administrative work at the supervisory level in support of the City of Burnabys IT systems and infrastructure including the Citys Licence, Inspection & Permit System (LIPS) program. Responsibilities include the preparation of project plans, schedules and budgets, ongoing project monitoring and tracking, and providing regular status updates to management on project progress. The Team LeadInformation Technology (Project Manager) will plan one or more IT projects within the LIPS Program (e.g. GIS Integration) and manage these projects to a successful completion working closely with the LIPS Program Manager and the LIPS team on ensuring a close alignment.

The successful incumbent will participate in the development and maintenance of comprehensive project plans including project scope, timelines, and risks; track the achievement of assigned project objectives; prepare, monitor and track project budgets; support meetings with the project team and stakeholders as required; facilitate input from stakeholders to arrive at appropriate solutions; follow up with recommendations when appropriate or necessary; ensure project closeout at completion; and work with fast-changing project parameters and dependencies. Performs related duties as requires

Qualifications include holding a University Degree at the Masters level in computer science, business, public administration or a related discipline and considerable related experience at project management or supervisory level, OR, an equivalent combination of training and experience. The successful applicant will have thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of project management including knowledge of information technology project planning and estimating, as well as, project management software and tools. In addition, knowledge of, and the ability to, manage projects and project teams and the ability to provide direction and supervision for assigned staff are required. This role also requires skill in office computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as, a valid Drivers License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
