Department
Carnegie Community Centre. Located at the corner of Main and Hastings in the Downtown Eastside, Carnegie serves an ethnically and socially diverse population, including many who are homeless or on low fixed income and residing in hotel rooms or social housing. Carnegie provides community-based social, cultural, recreational and educational programs and runs a year round program at Oppenheimer Park and a street outreach program. Programs are adult-oriented and serves a wide range of community members, many of whom are dealing with difficult circumstances such as drug and alcohol addiction, mental health issues, homelessness and violence. Service provision is throughout the Downtown Eastside.

Main Purpose & Function:
The Office Support Clerk II provides clerical and administrative support to the Carnegie Community Centre; which provides educational, recreational, social, cultural, and arts programs for a low income community. Reporting to the Assistant Director and Security Coordinator, this position is part of the security team and represents Carnegie Community Centre as the first point of contact for the public. Supports the Centres mandate and vision of a safe, welcoming, professional and accessible environment for patrons and staff at the Centre. The successful candidate will require a sound knowledge of departmental practices & procedures and be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
