As a recruiter, its your job to get to know your candidates like the back of your hand. Otherwise, you run the risk of matching the wrong candidates with the wrong roles. That, of course, leads to unhappy candidates and unhappy clients (or unhappy bosses, if youre a corporate recruiter). No one wants that.

Getting to know you candidates is a matter of asking the right questions. Resumes and social media accounts can only go so far in painting an accurate portrait of each candidate. Genuine conversation is the only way to delve deeper and uncover all the information you need.
